RARE POMMERY champagne bucket Vintage Champagne Bucket Bobine//unique//original//champagne bucket
Very Rare and Original Champagne bucket from the famous POMMERY house in Reims in the shape of a spool of blue thread, wooden body painted red, complete with its needle painted yellow.
For the record, this bucket of thread spools is a nod to the first profession of its founder Mr POMMERY. In fragile health and with a fortune made in wool, Mr Pommery decided in 1856 to retire from business to enjoy life more calmly. Their son, Louis, was grown up. The couple had no particular plans and were slowly moving towards a well-deserved vacation. It was then that fate intervened. Mrs Pommery, then aged 38, was expecting a child. This miraculous pregnancy more than seventeen years after the first would change the course of their lives forever. Committed to ensuring his daughter's future, Mr Pommery thought about taking up a business again. However, at that time, wool was undergoing an unfortunate crisis. On the other hand, the champagne wine trade was expanding greatly.
